Specifically, the lecture discusses the conditions precedent to a covered claim; sample coverage clauses in typical policies; West Virginia and other case law addressing the timeliness of reporting such claims;retroactive and prior acts coverage for lawyers moving from one law firm to another; tail coverage for retiring lawyers or dissolving law firms; defense costs and deductible issues; and, other exclusions from coverage, such as representing family members, non-fee paying clients, and service on non-profit and for-profit boards of directors.

UPDATE ON THE NEW AMENDMENTS TO THE WEST VIRGINIA RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND OTHER LEGAL ISSUES
On January 1, 2015, significant amendments were made to the WV Rules of Professional Conduct, by order of the WV Supreme Court of Appeals. Nearly every Rule of Professional Conduct and/or official comment has been amended. This presentation will highlight the impact of these new rules and other ethical issues.
